2013 Fall Fest – Glimpses
We had perfect weather at this year’s Fall Fest. This year’s crowd was lighter than normal, we may have had 50 people show. The ones who came really enjoyed the event. We had hot cider, hot chocolate, hot dogs (I decided we should have some), moon bounce, games, and a lot of desserts. Bob had contacted the neighborhood watch coordinator and they showed. (3 different people with CPD showed up during the event.) Overall, a nice event to get the neighbors together.

Independence Day Parade
On July 4, 2013, Crosswinds I and II celebrated Independence Day with its annual parade.
The festivities began at the north end of the subdivision at the bridge where everyone lined up. There were a total of 16 children and 13 adults in the parade which was led by Bob Castleman as flag bearer and Bob Simmons who shared his father’s WWII trailer decorated for the occasion. The parade went by every house in the subdivision where they were greeted by waves and by water sprays.

At the end, all congregated across the bridge for watermelon and popsicles. Target gift cards were presented to the winners in two categories. Most Original went to Dalton and Delaney Saunders who were dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2. Most Patriotic was awarded to Ella and Holden Straub as Mr. and Miss America.
